Marsh Madness at Road 22

On Sunday, October 26 a group of 15 community volunteers joined Okanagan Similkameen Stewardship's Lia McKinnon, Alyson Skinner and Anthea Bryan to plant native grasses, wildflowers, shrubs and trees at Road 22 north of Osoyoos.

This area adjacent to the Okanagan River provides key habitat for a variety of waterfowl, amphibians and mammals. The goal for the site is to manage invasive and nonnative plants, enhance a native rose thicket and cottonwood stand, providing food plants and shelter for local wildlife.
Many thanks to our project sponsors and funders on this project, including Sagebrush Nursery, Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation and Wildlife Habitat Canada.
